Let me tell you the story of Easter in our house this year. The Easter Bunny was going to pass over our house this year at my request because my children are SO spoiled by all grandparents, aunts, uncles and everyone else who knows them. I was perfectly happy with this decision until I realized that it was really Luke's first Easter that he would know that something fun is going on, so then I felt incredibly guilty. I had this realization at about 12:15am. So, off to Walmart I went.
and the next morning, who should leave fun surprises at the front door...
The Easter Bunny! While Jake was playing with the kids in the back, someone "mysteriously" rang the doorbell. Taylie ran and got the door I followed her with the camera *yawn*. She brought down the baskets for her and Luke and our morning of fun began. *yawn*

After last year, the Easter Bunny remembered not to put anything with extra sugars in the basket! Thanks goodness.
Easter Bunny left Luke a coloring book, a ball, some bubbles, and some goldfish crackers. :)
...and for Taylie: some watercolor paints, a frisbee (it seemed like a good idea at the time...), bubbles and some goldfish crackers.
We spent the morning listening to what we could of conference and painting/coloring/dodging flying toys.
After the 1st session of conference, we headed over to Grandpa and Grandma S. house for lunch and an Easter egg hunt. Because Easter Sunday fell on the same day as conference this year, I decided to give the grandparents a photo op and dressed the kids in there cute clothes.
It only lasted for 1 visit. It is far too exhausting to change 2 kids several times a day. Just copy these pictures.
I tried to get a picture of the kids together, but Luke wanted to get down and Taylie was having a blast with a magnifying glass.
After a really yummy Turkey Dinner, Grandpa had an Easter egg hunt ready for the kids. It was pretty hysterical. We sent Taylie one was and Luke the other. Every time Taylie found one, she would scream out "I FOUND ANOTHER ONE!". This happened often. :)

Luke found his first egg! Jake helped escort Luke around the pool as far away from Tay as possible. They both made out pretty darn well!
The funniest part is when it was all over, Taylie wanted to find more, so Jake would empty the candy out of Luke's eggs (which he didn't mind, cause he just kept eating candy...) and when Tay wasn't looking he would throw them over his shoulder into the yard and she would be so excited to find another one. Pretty soon her basket looked like this:It was hysterical because she was in the middle of the yard for about 10 minutes trying to stack all of the eggs in her basket and without fail, every time she got to the last egg, 2 would fall out.
Here is the video of her struggle to stack the eggs. Skip ahead to 45 seconds in to see my favorite part!
We all laughed. Insensitive, I know, but it was beyond hysterical.
I talked her into giving those eggs to Luke to make room in her In the end, once she realized that half of the eggs were empty, basket for the candy. Gotta love that girl!
After nap time Grandpa Jon and Grandma Karen came over with Marc and Ali and spoiled them some more. They each got another bouncy ball (which will not go unused!) and a Mickey and Minnie Mouse which they love, plus a little treat. It was a fun visit and Luke was a crack up playing catch with whoever would let him throw the ball them. So much fun.
For dinner we headed over to Mama Brooks' house where we had a wonderful yummy dinner of chicken courdon bleu (however you spell that...), Italian mashed potatoes, potato rolls, and fruit salad. Then the kids ran off to play with Grandma and we visited.
We had a very fun day and went home very full and ready for bed! Holidays are so much better with kids around, even if it does call for the occasional midnight run to the store...by the Easter Bunny, I mean. ;)

Malisa, I really enjoyed watching the "egg hunt" and when I think on it I am still laughing at Taylie, what a hoot she is and Lucas, gotta love that little guy. Thanks for sharing the pictures and video. Love yas, Gram :-)
Looks like you had fun! We do Easter Bunny Morning the day before and it makes it sooo nice for Easter Sunday! Love looking at all the pictures and feeling like I'm at least sort of connected to all the Utah family. :)
