I know, I know. Long time no blog. So sue me, I am doing my best.
Love, Malisa

Promise to my kids...

" I will stalk you, freak out on you, lecture you, drive you crazy, be your worst nightmare, embarrass you in front of your friends, and hunt you down like a bloodhound until the day that you understand why I do it. Then I will know that you are a responsible adult. All because I LOVE YOU! You will never find someone who loves and cares about you more that your mom!"
Love, Mom
I found this posted on the Internet the other day and I think it sums up being a mother pretty good!
;)

newest family members!

Wait, wait! Don't go getting all excited now:
These are our new fish! We inhereted them from Auntie Becca after her bridal shower. Taylie has decided to name them Bert, Ernie, Big Bird, and Elmo :)
After about 4 days, two of them (Big Bird and Elmo...according to Taylie) bit the dust. One while the kids slept and the other first thing in the morning (maybe he died out of sympathy or something...) Anyway, there was no way I could cover up the death of 2 fish so Taylie was pretty much hysterical. We had to burry them outside in our flowers before she stopped crying.
Anyway, we still have 2 I am and dreading the day that they decide to kick off. So, nobody please ask me if I want pets for my kids. I may think it is a good idea, but that means I have forgotten about "Sob Fest 2010".

Taylie's first day of pre-school and Luke's first day alone!

So, the beginning of the month was when Taylie started pre-school. I know, I am slow, fire me if you don't like it. ;)
She actually had to miss the very first day of school because she was sick, but she got to go on Thursday and she was SO excited. She was up early, of course, and asking about every 15 minutes if it was time to go school.

Luke thought that he was going to go to school too. I was so sad that he wanted to leave me, but happy that I got to keep him, but sad that he looked too grown up, but happy that he is excited for school, someday. :) He got his little backpack and packed up his blanket. I thought this was a way cute picture of the 2 of them.

We dropped her off at school and she pretty much told me to get lost and ran into her class room. I cried and so did Lucas. I was also happy that she wasn't "that child" who was having the freak out. After we dropped her off, Jake and I took Luke to the park to have some individual play time.
When we got in the car, he kept asking for Taylie and the poor little guy was confused as could be when he was the one calling the shots on what to do and how to play. He kept asking "Tay??" I felt so bad for the little guy.

When we got to the park and asked him what he wanted to do, he just looked at us like we spoke to him in some sort of language he had never heard before. He sat down and looked around and sort of checked out some other random things but never really played on any of them.
When he found the swings he decided that would be a good place to start and said he wanted to swing.
He loved it (obviously)

I mean, look at this place:
It is pretty much the coolest park around us and he didn't really want to do anything but go and get Taylie from school!
That day we stayed for about 30 minutes before he was ready to go and get Taylie, so we went to Walmart and looked at fish and some random stuff like that. He was so happy when it was time to go and get her! We went and picked up the girl and she had SO much fun! She loved school and behaved herself very well.
It only took about 1 or 2 more times to the park until Luke realized that he LOVES to be the only one who has my attention for 2 whole hours! He pretty much kicks Tay out of the car and then Jake after we drop him off and is SO glad to have me all to himself! I love the time that I am able to spend just me and him. I will have to do another post about a day at the park with Luke.
So, much to my relief, pre-school is a huge success!

quotable-quotes! (kid style)

Me: "Taylie! Go to time out!"
Taylie: "aw man! not again! crap!"

Taylie: "Oh! I think my tummy farted."

Me: "Where is my slipper?"
Taylie: (hides the slipper) "I don't know."
Me: "Oh, there it is, Thanks Tay."
Taylie: "NO! My penguins!"
(I give a quizzical look...)
Taylie: "my penguins are in your slipper."
(Luke looks at the slipper, points his cereal spoon at the slipper...)
Luke: "shoot! shoot! Hahahaha!"
Taylie: "OH NO! He killed my penguins!"
Luke: "mom slipper."

gotta love that boy!
