Fearless...almost

I'll let you start by watching:

Haha! Pretty awesome, huh?

This little girl just loves everything that has to do with animals. Even the creepy crawly ones! We went to visit Auntie Becca at work and she had a surprise for Taylie:

It was the teeniest tiny little pink snake you could ever think to find, and she LOVED it! We got to look at all kinds of animals guinea pigs, birds, huge goldfish that would nibble your finger, snails and...

Lizards!
Geckos!

The little snake (who she named Sparky, by the way...) was her favorite. She just kept asking: "Can I just have my snake back?" She carried him around the whole store while we looked at everything.

This is as close as Luke would get to any of the animals. :)
The best part was when it started to walk and he ran away to hide behind my legs.

Yep, my son ran from a turtle...because he thought it would "get him". :)

Gotta love that boy!

Thanks Becca for such a fun time!

Funniest thing I heard all day....

Oh man, I am not sure if I should fear this kid as a teenager or get ready for a lot of laughs (at her Dad's expense...)

Jacob: "Taylie, turn off the kitchen light please and get out to the car."
Taylie: "Turn it on?"
Jacob: "No, turn it off."
Taylie: "Turn it on. Okay."
Jacob: "No! I said turn it off. O-f-f."
Taylie: "Okay, I will go and turn on the light."
(giggling ensues...)
Jacob: "Argh! Taylie, I said turn off the light right now!"
Taylie: "Turn on the light, right."
(runs away to the kitchen...)
Jacob: "Did you get it turned off?"
Taylie: "Yep, the light is on."
Jacob: "TAYLIE...!"
Me: "You realize she is screwing with you, right?"
Jacob: *shakes his head as he hangs it and walks out the door*

It was the hardest time I have ever had trying not to wet my pants.
...I think I will do more laughing then Jacob will.

Labor Day 2011

We spent our Labor Day this year the same as we do all of the other:
Swimming at Grandpa's!
We were so glad that he was in town for the long weekend and we got to spend some extra time with him.

The only thing different this year, is that the water was SO freaking cold! It has been a little bit cooler this summer and the pool has followed suit.

Nothing phases Taylie and she was as eager as ever to swim in the 73 degree water on a 70 degree breezy day!!!

We pretty much have the best Grandpa ever and he was willing to get in the water with the kids and swim. Luke, split the difference and rode on the little raft.

When they were done swimming, I had a nice warm bath ready for them in Grandpa's huge jetted tub! They had fun swimming but they were glad to warm up after they were done.

We sure had fun swimming this year and the kids have the tan lines to prove it!
(I use sunscreen on them, I swear!)I think that the best part was when I put in some bubbles and turned on the jets so there were lots of bubbles and it made Taylie's duck "swim" around the tub as it followed the current. :)

She has already come up with the idea to use this as her pool for the winter, and Grandpa said it would be fine :)

We have the best Grandpa ever!

Our Summer

We had a pretty big challenge ahead of us trying to keep these 2 monkeys busy for the summer

It all started with the end of Taylie's first year of preschool!

(Taylie and Miss Miriam)

(Taylie and Katie; they were partners in crime through the whole school year)

They put on a program showcasing all that they learned through the year, including a song and dance number. I was most impressed by this because it shows that they taught her how to follow directions! ;)Miss Miriam and Miss Jenny were Taylie's teachers for the year. We loved them!

We went swimming

Played up the canyon

more swimming :)

Played at Grandma's house...A LOT!

more swimming....

popcorn, Popsicles, and movie night

and we swam a bit more... :)
Played at the park

and...SWIMMING!
Played in the dirt (which lead to taking lots of showers)

or cleaning off in the pool....
Played with some friends and went to birthday parties

and (drumroll please......) we swam a bit more! :)
And of course, last but not least:
We increased the number in our entourage from 2
to 3! Whew! I sure did enjoy our summer together :)
Now, bring on baking season!

My 3 favorite peeps!

Luke is....

(I covered his bum with the star, but he is as naked as a butterball turkey!)

Happiest after a nap :)

Which can, obviously, happen anywhere. :)

melts my heart...

This totally made my day:

This is one of the first real smiles he has given me :)
I am so happy!
